Definitely a love song

According to Lonely Planet‘s team of travel experts, Sri Lanka is on the top of the list of contries you can’t afford to miss 2013.

“Endless beaches, timeless ruins, welcoming people, oodles of elephants, killer surf, cheap prices, fun trains, famous tea, flavourful food – need we go on?”

Couldn’t agree more. Sri Lanka suits us well.
Below the back of the floor mats we found at the local market today. Such a great way to reuse textile. See the fronts here.

Looks so wonderful! Would you travel there with small kids…? And I love those backsides (and the fronts!)

Hi Inger Marie, yes I would travel there with small kids. There are a lot of families with children in all ages here. The though part beside the long plane ride could be the long drive from the airport, about three and a half hour (to HIkkaduwa). But on the ohter hand you can stop on the way. So really there should be no problem. Sri Lanka is a wonderful country in many ways. We have been to Thailand and Vietnam in Asia too, which we like very much, but I must say Sri Lanka beats them all. Love it here.

Thanks, this is really good to know! We are dreaming about a trip, but I wouldn’t have dared to go to Sri Lanka with the small kids without your recommendations and advices.

Okay … now I sit here thinking about traveling to Sri Lanka with the kids (instead of Thailand which was planned for this year) ;)
