New beginners. But almost a bag full. The forest is magical. This place is magical. More photos at Instagram.
Our mushroom guide.
I love this! Mushroom hunting is so fascinating, but I have never tried it. I think I would want a seasoned guide for my first time – who knows how many lookalikes there are!
That is such a good idea for an app! Good luck, and be careful! x
Beautiful photos. I love foraging at this time of year, especially in woods or forests….oh Autumn
I haven’t gone mushroom hunting in so many years. I used to look for puff balls in Indiana & then when I lived in Colorado, chanterelles.
Love your pictures.
I’ve always wanted to try mushroom hunting but never had the chance to do it! Hopefully one day. :)
härligt och vilken underbar svampskog ni har!
The mushroom app is just what I need!
We did just that today! Got a basketful of shaggy parasols which are good for eating (I hope!)
Will look up the app though, great idea.
We, too went mushroom hunting yesterday, and then I came home to find your post. I love that! We were lucky enough to find a bag full of chanterelles, after finding absolutely nothing when we went just a few days ago. We are also beginners! My guide is a vintage book from the 50s that I found second hand, “Svampar i färg,” and although it is very cute with nice drawings of mushrooms, your guide is probably a bit more practical. ;)
oh how exciting! I want to go looking for treasure now!
In my country, Catalonia, serious mushroom hunters never carry plastic bags. The right thing is to use a woven basket. As you walk through the forest, carrying a basket full of mushrooms, their spores are allowed to fall around. This will never happen with a plastic bag.
Ha, hi Anna. Of course we had a woven basket. A big one!
Ohhh, you’re so lucky E!
Yummy, yummy! ;D
Cute little helper, that app. I have my aunt. She does not go with me, I go to her, after I pick whatever I think is edible. She runs her fingers through the basket and spells out some magic words. They must be the names of the mushrooms.
